What Should I Drink?

WATER INTAKE:

I’m going to make this as simple as possible. Drink ½ of your body weight (pounds) in ounces of water per day. For example, if you weigh 200 pounds, drink no less than 100 ounces of water per day. You can use an artificial sweetener such as Crystal Light ® if you must, but try your best to drink plain water. The key is to eliminate sugars in everything you drink. So this is going to hurt. No soda, juice, sugary drinks, beer, alcohol, etc. It sucks, I know. Save those items for your cheat days.

If you’ve never consumed this much water before, be prepared to urinate quite a bit at first. It can definitely be an inconvenience, but trust me, you need it!

In general, we don’t drink enough water as a society! Water is an absolutely essential part of a healthy life. The body needs large amounts of water to keep your machine running properly. It hydrates your cells, promotes healthy cellular metabolism and flushes out unwanted toxins. When you don’t drink enough water, your body will horde it and cause bloating. When your body has plenty of water, your organs will operate efficiently and burn more fat.
