The Power Breakfast
You’ve just finished a killer workout and you’re trying to remember your rules:
“Hydrate and fuel within 30 minutes after a workout.”
Or, you just have a big day ahead. You didn’t have time to workout this morning, but you need to fuel your mind for your professional life. Or, you’re not doing sh*t today but staying home and playing video games. No matter, this powerful breakfast will help repair your muscles, supercharge your brain and preload those twitch gaming skills. A great mix of complex carbs, proteins and healthy fats rounds out a beautiful plate of fuel. Let’s grind.
2 Cage-Free Eggs
Ground Lamb, Grass-fed beef or lean ground sausage
1 Red Bell Pepper
1 Broccoli Crown
1tsp Coconut Oil
Sea Salt & Pepper to taste
A bit of fruit
Wash and chop the vegetables. I like to cut the broccoli into large stalks that I can pick up and eat with my meat hooks. The bell pepper gets chopped into bite-sized pieces. Form your ground meat of choice into patties (ground lamb pictured here) and drop them into a hot skillet with a bit of coconut oil. The cooking process should provide a bit more fat from the meat, so don’t pour it off (unless you went with a fatty meat instead of a lean grind), you’ll want some lube for your veggies.
Once the patties are cooked to your liking, place them on the serving plate. Drop your veggies into the still hot skillet and mix well to get a coating of lube on them. Add salt & pepper to taste. Don’t overcook those veggies! Keep them right in the middle of soft & firm. This way you will retain a good portion of their nutrients! Once the veggies are done, add them to the serving plate.
Last but not least, egg preparation. Do whatever you wish here. I choose to go sunny-side-up, yolk in, and I season with some cayenne powder and Tabasco Sauce. Gives it a decent kick.
Garnish with some avocado or guacamole and a piece of fruit for a perfectly balanced plate.
