Cheat Meals? Really Dude?
But wait, Kash! Aren’t we trying to get healthy? Why the heck would you post these sinful meals for us to drool over?
Answer: Remember gamers, you’re adopting an 80/20 lifestyle! You don’t have to eat like a champion every single day. Look, it’s tough enough to stick to eating healthy most of the week! Sinful foods like pizza, pasta dishes, desserts and the like TASTE GOOD. These foods are a part of what makes us modern humans! Are they good for you? Hell no. But mark my words, if you are strict about the foods you have adopted into your new lifestyle, one or two bad meals a week is not going to sink your ship. The trick is, being able to eat a cheat meal every once in a while (I cheat HARD once per week) and bounce right back into your healthy lifestyle. Once you see how your body adapts to eating healthy, be prepared that you will probably feel like crap afterwards! But the reality is, you gotta live, too. So let’s get one thing straight, you’re changing a MAJORITY of your lifestyle. On occasion, don’t forget to enjoy the foods you love, then move along with your new lifestyle. For that reason, I will also be sharing some recipes with you that I prepare on my cheat days. Don’t be afraid of them! Just make sure you’re settled into a good routine with your healthy food regimen before you start adding in cheat meals. For example, start your body off right. Eat clean for about a month. This will give your body the opportunity to start working the way it’s designed to work – like a machine. Realize that you are in this for the long haul. I will never refer to healthy eating as a “diet”. It’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle. Train your mind to prepare for the marathon, not the sprint. The key to losing weight and maintaining a healthy body is consistency! If you are eating clean consistently, you earn the right to eat dirty every once in awhile. So let’s enjoy it.
